But the biggest downside for us - after touring the area we had stopped in Temecula and purchased some coolers and a couple of bottles of wine to enjoy during our stay. The casino does apparently have a nonsmoking area but it's not well marked and we never did locate it. Not inexpensive however as supper was $20 per person.
The buffet was tidy and the food quality above average for a buffet. For those of us who enjoy spending some time in the casino, lots of penny and two penny machines to play on. The room was great - big comfortable king bed with an amazing bathroom with a soaker tub and separate shower.
Front desk staff was friendly and courteous. The road in is narrow and winding but coming from the Canadian Rockies, this is not a problem for us. Pala Resort and casino is tucked away in the middle of nowhere.
